Description

It’s a gorgeous day at the seaside, and the surfers are on the lookout for new boards. Your objective in Longboard is to create the largest and most impressive longboards, establishing your surfboard-making business as the most popular in the area. Surf’s up!

In this game, players take turns drafting and trading surfboard pieces to construct their boards. Each turn, players can take two actions, with three possible types of actions:

  • Add a card from the deck to your personal supply, which are the cards placed face up in front of you.
  • Take a card from your supply to start or expand a board. Each board must consist of cards of the same color (or wild), with each new card added to a board needing to be equal to or greater in value than the one below it.
  • Put one or more cards from your supply into an opponent’s supply, then take a single card from their supply that has a value lower than the sum of the cards you gave them. Use this card to start or expand a board.
  • Each board card has 1-3 stickers, which count as points when the surfboard is complete, consisting of at least four cards. When a player has 3-4 complete boards, with at least one of them having 7+ cards, they can choose to end the game. If this doesn’t happen before the deck runs out, the game ends at that point. Players then score points for stickers on completed boards, lose points for incomplete boards, and score bonus points if they have the longest completed board, the most completed boards, or if they’ve completed any of the four random objective cards at the start of the game.
